Chapter One
The dog who couldn't settle.
In the spring of 2025, a 6-pound rescue yorkie named Gigi came home with one of us. She was sweet, shy, and shaking. She wouldn't stop following, bathroom, kitchen, every room, and the moment the door closed behind us, she'd cry until we came back.
We did what every new small-dog owner does. We bought a calming bed. A donut bed. The "small" one. It cost $54 and it was beautiful and Gigi was terrified of it. She climbed up to look at it once, then never went near it again. It was bigger than she was.
We tried two more beds, different brands, different fabrics. Same outcome. The product wasn't wrong. It just wasn't made for a dog her size.
Chapter Two
What if the bed were smaller than her?
We started measuring. A yorkie's body is about 9 inches long. A "small" donut bed is 19 to 24 inches across. The dog isn't supposed to sleep in the bed, she's supposed to be swallowed by it. Most small dogs don't want that. They want something they can lean on. Something the size of a sibling.
In June 2025, after a lot of measuring and a lot of sketching, we found a manufacturer who could make what we wanted: a U-shape cotton pillow, 15 by 12 by 10 centimeters, 200 grams, machine-washable. Small enough to fit on Gigi's lap. Curved so she could nest into it. Light enough to take to the car, to the vet, to a friend's house.
The first prototype arrived in August. Gigi walked up to it and climbed on it within two minutes. She has slept against it almost every night since.

Chapter Three
A pillow is a tool.
The work is everything else.
Somewhere around prototype 3, we realized the product wasn't enough. A pillow doesn't cure anxiety. It can give an anxious dog a safe object to anchor to, but only inside a calm household, with consistent routines, with an owner who knows how to teach a velcro dog to detach.
So we wrote a protocol. Seven days. Fifteen minutes a day. We tested it with the same eleven dogs that tested the prototypes. It is not a miracle. It is what works. We send it free with every pillow.
